FAQs
How does PhotoBlocker work?
• Photo radar
cameras often utilize a strong flash to photograph the licence plate on your car.
• PhotoBlocker's special formula works to reflect the flash back to the
camera.
• The result is an overexposed and unreadable photo often preventing a costly
ticket.
Is
this product legal?
The law in most countries,
including South Africa,
requires your license to be legible to the naked eye. PhotoBlocker™ Spray is a
high gloss, clear, reflective spray that is undetectable. It causes no
distortion nor does it obstruct your license plate’s view. This product does
not give you the right to speed or jump red lights at will, but is rather
intended to secure a safe journey
YOUR LICENSE PLATE WILL BE VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE. Besides, no one will even know you have it on. It only fools the cameras.
Does
the product really work?
To date we have
conclusive tests conducted by Denver Police Department, Dutch Police, Fox News,
Swedish TV, Australian TV, British TV and thousands of satisfied customers in
six continents. Our Products were also featured on NBC, CBS, ABC News, Tech
TV, Norwegian TV, Dutch TV, Washington Times, UK’s Daily Mail and many, many
more. In South Africa it was featured on ETV, various magazines such as
TopCar, numerous newspapers and Radio 702 Talk Shows.
Can
the police enhance the photo to read my plate number after it is overexposed due
to PhotoBlocker?
The
answer is NO they can not. If the positive image is illegible,
the negative image will be EXACTLY as illegible. Merely looking
at the negative image cannot improve the legibility of a license plate. If you
can't see the faint dark letters in the positive image, then you won't see them
any better as faint white letters in the negative, or vice-versa. There are
certainly ways to enhance the contrast to try to amplify and clarify subtle
gradations, but they have nothing at all to do with checking the negatives.
Additionally, if they tamper with the picture, then that evidence is not admissible in the court of law. As a result any photo-radar image that is illegible will be discarded. They will not spend time and money to enhance a poor quality image.
How many plates
can I do with one can of PhotoBlocker Spray can?
One spray can will do 4 South African size plates.
How many coats
should I apply?
The thicker the coating the better the result. At a
minimum 3-4 coats - the more the better.
How do I apply PhotoBlocker
to my number plate? Are there any special instructions?
Because the application of PhotoBlocker is important to
the effect of the product, we have taken the step to include an instructions
sheet with every order. The instructions are detailed and will help you achieve
the desired result. The basic instructions include:
1. Remove your
number plates and place them on a flat surface.
2. Clean the surface of your number plates thoroughly.
3. Spray Photo Blocker evenly, until the number plate's surface is totally
saturated.
4. Let it dry, and repeat Step 3 above 2-3 times until the plate is very glossy.
5. Let plates dry for about 2 hours. This easy, one-off application should last
for life!
When I take a picture of my licence plate with a personal camera the licence plate shows up in the photograph. How effective is PhotoBlocker against traffic cameras?
The correct way to test the effectiveness of PhotoBlocker is to use actual photo-radar equipment. Traffic cameras use a high intensity flash that is much more powerful than a personal camera. A modern personal camera will take a few second to measure the light, adjust exposure and distance before taking a picture and therefore the licence plate in the photograph is going to come out legible. A photo-radar camera works in a totally different way and does not have the luxury of a few seconds to establish the correct exposure and shutter speed. The cameras are programmed to take pictures on set parameters such as distance and ambient light. Cars zooming past are photographed in a split second. This is where PhotoBlocker spray comes in to play. Photo blocker's unique chemical composition changes the amount of light reflected back to the camera and renders the licence plate illegible.
This is exactly what Fox News investigative reporters, Denver City Police Department, Dutch Police, Swedish TV, Australian TV and Norwegian newspapers concluded in their test results. As a result PhotoBlocker has become the best selling anti-photo radar spray in the world.
Can I use PhotoBlocker on both the plastic type plate and the aluminium type plate?
PhotoBlocker works on both the pressed aluminium as well as the plastic plates. The PhotoBlocker spray is highly reflective so in the case of using it on plastic plates even though there is a gap between the actual licence plate sticker and the plastic surface the plastic surface still becomes highly reflective. From the feedback that we have received from customers we can conclude that PhotoBlocker works well on the plastic plates as the sticker in these plates already has reflective properties.
